Christmas 2008

Our Christmas always starts Christmas Eve at my mom's house (Me-Me's). We do Christmas dinner of Steak and Baked Potato and then open presents. After that we load our loot and head home to get ready for Santa. This year was no exception. We got home from Me-Me's around 9 and off to bed they went. The good thing about our kids is that they like to sleep. So Christmas morning Blake and I were staying in bed hoping the kids would wake up soon. But no luck. 7:30 and my garage door opens and Me-Me and Paw-Paw came in to wake us all up. The kids didn't waste any time. They quickly got up and ran to the living room saying, "momma, momma, he came!! Santa came!!" So we called their Mamaw and Pappa to tell them to come down. Once everyone was here we then do our Christmas morning breakfast. This is something I do every year. We spent most of the day hanging out at home and playing with all their new stuff.

I think he likes it!!!! lol

My crazy husband (They say "open me first")

On Friday we headed to Fayetteville to have Christmas with Blake's family there. We really enjoyed spending time with our two neices. They are so cute and I couldn't get enough kisses and hugs. This was the first Christmas in my in-law's new house and we had such a great time rocking out with "World Tour".

Aunt Boni loaded the kids up with Wii games.

This is how the boys said Thanks !!!!!

Sorry Boni, I couldn't resist!! Rock on girl!!!

Christmas Cookies..A family tradition

Every Year at Christmas the boys and I make Christmas Cookies with Me-Me (my mom). This year Me-me got some really cool cookie cutters from Williams & Sonoma. Well their video made it look so easy and so pretty. Well of course that's not what we found out. The cookies started off ok but when they came out of the oven they were horrible! These cutters cut part of the cookie out and you were to fill it with broken hard candies, such as Life Savers. Well when the cookies came out it looked as if someone had puked in it. They did not turn out the way we wanted but we had fun anyway. We saved the last of the batter and made normal sugar cookies. So don't worry Santa, you'll have milk and cookies....

Gotta New Camera, YEA!!!

I am so very excited, I got an early Christmas present. I got a new camera. It will probably be my only present but I'm ok with that. Now if I can just figure it out. I took a few pictures of the boys. Hope you enjoy...

Christmas Cards

Since I am late and just now mailing cards I thought I'd upload our cards so everyone can see them. Merry Christmas!!

Accidents Happen!!

Yesterday we woke up to very cold temps and not knowing if the roads were ok to drive on. So After listening to the radio I realized that most were ok. But me being the careful mom that I am we went to school late. Not a big deal, b/c they aren't doing much at school anyway. So I dropped them off and within an hour got a call from Tyler. He wasn't feeling good. So I picked him up and off we went to the doctor. Dr. Burns said he has a sinus infection and growing pains. So we went to get the Scripts filled and then to lunch. I went back to work since I am going to be out on Thursday for class parties. I picked Taylor up at 3 and then went to get Tyler. But Blake ended up meeting me and we went Christmas Shopping. When we got back to my mom's I found out that mom had made the kids Pizza for dinner. She had just taken it out of the oven and cut it. She then put it on a plate to cool and Taylor grabbed it. She told him "Taylor, let it cool". Well he dropped it on his bare belly/chest. And when we got there he has already cried himself to sleep. Mom had put some medicine on it and it had started blistering up. I brought him home and put him in bed. I kept both the boys home today to get them better so that they can go to their school parties. Poor Taylor!!

Taylor's Christmas Program

Ok, So I'm the worst at posting! But we are so busy that I don't even know if I'm coming or going. We have the normal school stuff going on and I have been working 2 jobs! Also I added the pictures of the boys getting their "Elf on the Shelf"

But anyway now about the Christmas Program...Before the program a group of 4th graders told us about "East Lab", which is a program at our school that does graphic design, video editing and uses programs sucha s google sketchup and goole earth. East lab teaches the kids to use computers and is really neat!! Tyler was one of the 4th graders picked. They told us what East lab does and that there are only 3 in the whole world. (Including theirs) The students told us in English and then translated it into Spanish. Tyler got a Spanish part that he was very nervous about it, but he did great! They all did. I am so glad that their school has things like East Lab and Spanish!
After that presentation the 1st grade classes did their Christmas program. It was so cute. Except that fact that Taylor's medicine wore off and he was making faces and acting up through the whole thing. But they sang lots of Christmas songs and Taylor even got a speaking part. I am so very proud of my young men! They are growing up so fast.

A New Family Tradition!!

This year we started a new Family Tradition, "The Elf on the Shelf". This is a Elf that I bought and came with a book to explain what to do. Basically this elf is sent from Santa. He sits on the self and watches you and when you go to bed he flys back to the North Pole and reports to Santa all he sees and know. Then when you wake up the next morning he'll be a different place. So it's kind of a game. The kids all gathered around me last night and we read the story about the Elf on the Shelf. This morning I got phone calls from all the kids wanting to know where the elf moved to. I think this is a great new tradition!! (My camera died before I could get a picture of the Elf) We also had to name the elf before he could start his assignment. We named him "Cookie"

Early Christmas at the Campell House.

Christmas came early at the Campell House. Tyler and Taylor's Mam-maw and Papa bought them each a bedroom suit. We thought we would surprise them with it so Mam-maw took the boys to the Movies to see "Bolt". While they were gone my mom, dad, grandma Marks, Blake and I cleaned out their rooms and moved EVERYTHING out!! The boys then spent the night at my mom's and let's just say they weren't happy about that! The next day the furniture store delivered our new rooms and as they were setting them up I called for the boys to come home. They were so excited when they pulled up at the house and saw the delivery truck. At that time they knew it was furniture but I don't think that they knew what it was or that it was for them. They were so excited about their new rooms. Now we are learning how upset mom can get when we don't keep our clean!!!

Mam-maw and Papa were also good to me and Blake. Check out my new coffee table, end table and sofa table. I think it goes so well with our house. I then put Amy and Tony's old entertainment center in my living room. For the first time since I moved in this house (Feb 2005) I have that cozy, homey feeling. You know the feeling of Home!!

Now if I can get a rug in the boys bedrooms and paint the living room, my house will be complete!!

Family Photo Time

Sunday my friend Jamie took our family pictures. This was the first time we have had pictures made since Taylor was a baby. It was also the first time we had pictures make with my parents since I was 12. Needless to say we were overdue. My boss and friend, Kale and Connie Magness allowed us to use their home to take our photos. I am really thankful for good friends and for my family this Holiday Season. Now I have to decide what to print!!!!

My Newest Job!!!

Ok so I have about 3 jobs or so. I work for a Financial Advisor by day, a Caterer by night and weekend and a mom/wife/housekeeper/cook/.... all the time!! And my newest thing is making Diaper Cakes and Diaper Wreaths with my mom. I just finished my first paid order and they turned out so good. (Or at least I thank so) I am hoping to turn this into a business. I have started with the diapers but I am now working on Candy Cakes. So I need a name for our business. I am not good at picking things like that. We thought about "Baby Cakes", "Candi Cakes" or even Candi Lane. So if you have any ideas, let me know. Also enjoy the pictures and tell your friends...
