School Trips

Now that Tyler is in Middle School he is staying very busy!! Earlier this month he made the EAST Team. This is Environmental and Spacial Technology. You can check out the web site for more info http://www.eastproject.org/ This is a very big deal. Only 8 kids are picked to go as the Team to Hot Springs for the East conference. Way to go Tyler!!!! I am so proud of you!!!

Also Tyler is a Student Council Representative. There are only two kids per class. The SC did a toy drive and went to the mall to donate the toys. They had their pictures made with Santa and read to some elementary kids. This was a great way for them to give back!

The next day the GT at CHMS went to Little Rock for some skating. Not all of the kids got to go. Only the ones who sold two items from the fundraiser. This was a great group of kids. We had a few injuries and Tyler was no exception. He fell 3 times on his face and by the end of the day he had a huge pop knot on his chin and a busted blood vessel in his ear and chipped a tooth. However he didn't care he was just having a great time. Taylor also got to tag along with them and I was so proud of him. He skated so well!!! Way to go Taylor!!!
Below is a picture of Tyler and Haley and Taylor..... Cute kids.

new post coming soon!!!

I am so sorry that I have not been able to post lately. But just wait...I am working on a few so hopefully you'll see all the good stuff that happened this last week... Stay tuned!!

Lots of Fun here!!!!

Just call our house the fun house!! We are having so much fun with the boys... Tyler is starting to show his independence. Most of the time it comes out just fine, but other...OMG!!! That's all I can say.... however this weekend was our first weekend home in a while and the kids begged for a sleepover. Of course I gave in, I just couldn't say no when they've been soooo good!! So after school Tyler and Taylor's friends came over. They were brothers too. And we ate pizza and popcorn and stayed up really late watching movies, and playing on the computer. (I wouldn't let them on the computer without me watching....) They had the music going and found the video button and made a video!! It was too funny watching Tyler and his friend Tristen make this video. They were so excited about it and wanted me to upload it to facebook.... I would never have done that when I was there age... Taylor and his friend Hayden (Tristen's brother) stayed up and played video games all night. I finally put them all to bed at 2:30 am!! I am way TOO OLD to stay up that late!! And Furthermore, get up at 8 am... can you say still recouping? Anyway enjoy the video, I sure did!!

(NOTE: You may need to pause it and let it buffer so it will play without skipping)

First Deer!!

OH My I now have a killer on my hands!!! LOL!! Tyler has been hunting the last few years and was not able to get a shot at anything, but that all changed this year....He was invited to hunt with my Great Uncle, his Great Great Uncle at the deer camp that I grew up in. This place is a very special place to me and I loved going back and getting share such a beautiful place with my kids and husband. Uncle Gary took Tyler out Saturday morning (opening day) and they saw 8 deer. Tyler shot twice and missed... At first we thought it was him not putting the target on the deer, but after missing three Saturday night and two more on Sunday we knew the scope was off. Tyler never gave up, he never got down on himself. So Blake met a friend of ours that went to our house and got Blake's guns and Tyler and him went back on the stand Sunday night... they were there only an hour and I got the picture text.... FIRST DEER!! Wow what a smile, what excitement. Taylor and I were waiting on them at the camp when they pulled up with her. Tyler's hands were covered in blood and his adrenaline was working overtime. After the rest of the camp got back we cleaned her and cut her up. Tyler was right there watching and helping as Kelly and Blake cleaned her. We are so proud of Tyler and thankful for such a great family that allowed us to come be apart of opening weekend. This has truly been a great weekend!!!

Pro Golf here we come!!!

So Taylor has been taking golf lessons with the First Tee. Things are going great!!! He loves golf and he is pretty good!! ( Can someone say Scholarship!!!) But the First Tee of Texarkana brought PGA Pro Golfer David Toms to New Haven for a golf Clinic. Taylor was so excited to meet a real golfer. He was a little disappointed that it was Tiger Woods, but when he found out that David played with Tiger, then all was good. David showed the kids how to drive the ball and talked to them about tournaments and stuff. I am so glad to be apart of such a great organization. Thanks Texarkana First Tee!!!
Here are a few pictures that we took.... the first one is a sunset picture that Taylor took. I thought it was pretty....

House Remodel

So for the last few weeks I have been posting to my Facebook about the house remodel. This is for my Grandmother. (My dad's mother). She is 82 years old and lives in Kingsland, AR. The house she is living in is not fit for anyone. She has leaks in the ceilings and mold growing in all three bedrooms. The floor is also falling in. So when her brother, Bill Miller, passed away, her niece allowed her to move in the house he was living in located in Fordyce if she fixed it up. So that is what we are doing...fixing it up. You can tell from the pictures that it was in bad shape before we got to it. And when we thought the end was near, we found out the the house needed to be re-wired. It is a wonder that the house has already burned down. The wires in the attic were already showing some sings of fire. But thanks to some great help we were able to get that hazard taken care of. We still have to lay the carpet and touch up some of the paint, but I hope to get her moved in the house this coming weekend. So stay tuned to see the finished product.

Also sorry the pictures are not all the right size.....

Labor Day / Birthday Weekend

Well over the Labor Day Weekend we went camping. My parents had just bought a camper and were dying to use it. It was Tyler's birthday weekend and mine too... I can't believe he is Ten!! It seems just like yesterday that he was born. Anyway....
So we allowed Tyler to take one friend, which was hard because we have so many friends that we wanted to take. This was our first time ever taking someone with us for the weekend. We were a little scared because we didn't know how well they would get along, but they were fine and they even played with Taylor. We had an eventful time at the lake....This is a recap....
Left for the lake on Friday the 4th of Sept. and didn't get there until 8:30 that night. We ate dinner and went to bed. Then on Sat. we were going to go out in the boat but it was broke.... So we went to the playground instead. There the boys found a couple of kids to play with, but it turned ugly quick. The other boys were pushing and hitting our boys so guess what our kids did... that's right they started fighting. But the other boys were scared because Blake and I were watching them to make sure no one got hurt. (They only pushed each other and talked smack to each other) Then on Sunday my mom's neighbor came up and brought his boat and by the time he motored from the landing to our campsite his boat was running hot and so we had to load it up right there at the camp. And that's when the ranger came around and caught us... we were very lucky that we didn't get a ticket. So I loaded the kids up and took them to Albert Pike so they could swim and play. They had so much fun until a cloud cam up and we had to return to camp. So after dinner we came home!!!! I'd had enough camping and was ready to be at home. But here are a few pictures of the boys and yes the boys are in the dog cage and no I did not put them in there. However someone drove by and saw them and told some friends of ours on the other side of the campground that there were some kids being punished by being put in a cage... how funny!!!!

Our September...

We have had a very busy September... it started the last weekend in August. I had to go to Springdale to take a Continuing Education class for the renewal of my Arkansas Residential Title Insurance License. So while I was in a very boring CE Class, Blake and Lisa took the kids to Fan Day at the U of A. They had so much fun, they got to feed Tusk, play games and look at some really cool cars, motorcycles, etc. But I think Blake enjoyed it more than anyone. He not only had our two kids but he had his nieces also. Needless to say if we lived closer to them they would be
so spoiled!!!! Here are a few pictures from that day....

And when Blake and the kids picked me up from my class, and yes Blake is a good dad he had all 4 kids with him, we went back to Boni & Travis' house and I finally got to meet my new niece... Catherine Grace Williamson. She is so precious! Emma and Hannah love being big sisters and I am so blessed to be part of their lives. I just wished that we lived closer to them.

Back to School Continued....

Well I have had a lot of response about my post. I'd like to say that I am in no way trying to put down our school or the teachers in our school. I fully understand that mistakes happen and that there is no perfect school. However, I have good news to report. We have been moved to another classroom. So when I picked Tyler up today he said it was a FANTASTIC day!!! That was music to my ears! He is looking forward to school tomorrow and I am too.

But I'd like to take a minute and say that our principal has been great in resolving these issues. And I have no problem with our former teachers. It's just that sometimes, some people don't mesh well. I think that is what happened with us. We had several misunderstandings but I think she is going to be great for the district. I applaud our district for stepping in and addressing the matters that I and others have had. I feel that with teamwork we can make our district better than ever.

I would also like to apologize for sounding so angry and ticked off. I actually forgot that my blog was connected to my facebook. So when I was writing I thought that only a few friends and family members would read it. So I am sorry that I aired all my dirty laundry, but I am glad for the happy ending.

Back to School

Back to School... that is usually a happy time for most parents! Well not so much for me. I was ready for the kids to start back but I had mixed feelings as well. But this is how our year has started off.....sorry I wrote a book but I had to get it out!!

Taylor started the second grade. He is doing great! We got a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Watson. He is so excited to be the only Campell on campus now. He has adjusted well with the new grade. I don't have much to write about Taylor going back to school because it has been so easy and gone so well. He is loving it and he said he made a 100 on his test this Friday!!! Way to go Taylor!!!

Now to Tyler.... this has not gone well for us. If you are my friend on Facebook then you've seen my updates about our hard time. So I want to fill everyone in.
Tyler started the 5th grade this year and that means he is at the Middle School this year (5th and 6th only). None of us knew what to expect but at the Middle School so it was new to all of us.
We went to meet the teacher and he got on the two man team instead of the 4 man team, which means that he will only change classes twice instead of 4 times. At first I was not liking that but it turns out it was for the best. (Less change) And his homeroom teacher taught in Japan for 9 years and then a few years in Atlanta, Georgia. So she has experience. His other teacher has taught in the district for years and she is great also. But this is where things take a turn for the worse.

On the second day of school, I brought Tyler lunch....I was met in the hall by his teacher telling me that she didn't think I was suppose to be here. That Tyler was upset and in the restroom. She was going to check on him and would be right back. I thought that Tyler might be too embarrassed to have his mom there so I offered to leave his lunch. She said "no I don't think you can be here!" What are you serious??? Yes she went to ask the principle if it was ok for parents to come to lunch and bring outside food. And it is! So we got that straight but Tyler was so upset that he cried all through lunch and didn't eat. The teacher told the class that their parents couldn't come have lunch with them..... BIG MESS!!! Anyway Tyler begged me to take him home. He didn't want to be there anymore. I made him stay and called a parent / teacher / principle meeting that day. We got some things straight and we left feeling really good about the school. Then two days later Tyler once again started saying that he didn't want to go back. He started crying before school and didn't stop until we got there. I think he actually went into school crying. But I made him go. Then when I thought everything was going great and I had plan to have a day to myself, I got the call!!! The counselor called to say that Tyler was feeling bad because he was teased for being short. Well when I talked to Tyler is was not just the "short thing" a kid in line behind him put his finger on Tyler's neck and made a cutting noise. The kid said "ooh this is a knife and I just cut your head off and it's in the trash". DO WHAT??? DID THAT KID JUST THREATEN MY BABY??? So I called Blake and we both headed to the school. The counselor said that Tyler wasn't upset over that commit so she let it slide. Well no, WE are not letting it slide. We made Tyler tell his teachers and Blake and I waited on the Principle so we could get this taken care of. Once everyone knew what was going on I went back to work hoping for a better day. But I got a call from the Principle that she had talked to the kid and he was just playing. WHAT ARE YOU SERIOUS??? The handbooks says that a bully gets 3 days in ISS (in school suspension) for the first offense and as far as the threat that would be a Category 3... which means you are suspended for 10 days. I've had a lot of people tell me that we should press charges but Blake and I are not going to because Tyler has had such a hard time adjusting. So we decided that we would just encourage him and send him back to school on Friday until we can move schools.
So Friday morning I got up and got the kids ready and right when we were walking out, it happened. Tyler threw up!!! So I keep him at home, knowing it was nerves, but just in case it was a bug he wouldn't spread it. But after he found out he wasn't going to school he was fine. No big deal. I figured he needed a day to pull it all together. So we had a great weekend and started our fall ball season. Tyler is doing great!! His bat showed up and his pitching is getting there. He also had a sleepover at a friends house and was looking forward to going back to school and giving it another shot!! (GREAT ATTITUDE)
This morning he got up and got ready but didn't eat much. I didn't think anything about it. Then he asked how do you clean up throw-up?? So I calmly told him and went back to what I was doing. (Thinking that if I didn't make a big deal about it he would get control and move forward) Then as we are putting things in the back-pack it happened again. He missed the potty and threw-up in the floor again! I still made him go to school. Then when we got to Taylor's school Tyler rolled down the window and once again threw-up. I told him that he was going to school and would have to get a hold of himself. He started crying and tried to move from the front seat to the back seat saying "I'm not going!! You can't make me!!" So I told him that he WAS going and that I wouldn't walk him in anymore. So now we are at the school and he got out of the car but tried to hug me. (I knew this would make it worse so I said "No, get out.) He walked in to school with a red face and tears in his eyes.
Well before I could even get to my office I got a call from the nurse that one of the teachers had him in the restroom and he was just throwing-up. I asked her to check on him and IF he were sick then I'd come get him, but I bet it was just nerves. I explained to her what had been going on and she said she'd handle it. I never heard back from the nurse so I called her. She said once he settled down he was fine and she sent him back to class.
I seriously don't know what to do!!! I can't go all year like this. Please pray for us. I feel like I am throwing him into the lions den!! I never expected Tyler to act this way, he's always been pretty tuff!!

Mini - Vacation

Oh my I am so the bad momma!!!! It was July since my last post!!! Well here is our vacation and I'll tell you about school a little later when I'm not so mad!!!
We decided go to Branson for a mini-Vacation before school started. The kids had so much fun!!! They went up early Friday morning with my parents. Poor Taylor kept asking, "Are my parents coming?", "I want to wait on my parents." "Are they any closer?" Bless his heart he was so scared that we wouldn't show up. But they stooped at the Buffalo River on the way up which the kids loved!!! Then they checked in the hotel! They were so excited that the hotel had a water park in it. But Blake and I met them that night at Silver Dollar City. They were so excited about all the rides and attraction. The next day we went back to Silver Dollar City and spent the whole day. Taylor was scared of every ride. We would get him on the ride and he would say..."I don't think I want to ride this, can I get off?" I would say "No, trust me!" So he would ride it and then tell me "I want to do it again!!!" The whole day went like that.
Tyler on the other hand wasn't scared of anything!! He was enjoying getting to call the shots!! (So he thought).
After the fun day at SDC we went back to the hotel and played at the water park. Taylor did the same thing at the water park that he did at SDC. I'm scared....I want to do it again!! Need less to say they both slept so good that night!!!
Then on Sunday we went to the Titanic. That was so very cool! Tyler just loved it! He said it was the best part of the weekend. But the best part of the weekend was seeing my kids having fun and getting to share that with my parents.

Quick Catch up!!!

Where have we been? Well we have been so busy with end of the school year stuff and then on to baseball and church camp and now things are starting to slow down... I am so glad, I am starting to tired!!! But the end of the school year was great! Tyler and Taylor both got a lot of adwards.. Tyler got Straight A's and then he got a thropy for having straight A's since 1st grade. Taylor got A - B Honor Roll and I was so proud of both of them!!!

Then we had end of the year parties and for Tyler's class we got all of the 4th grade classes together and did our version of "Are you smarter than a 4th grader" then they went out side for a tail gate party... We got the radio station to come by and the Cheerleaders to come. The kids had so much fun.

For Taylor's party we did a game show style party too. We would ask questions and do fun, messy stunts.... They were too young for it, because they didn't like getting dirty!!!

(I can't find my pic's of this)

Then Tyler went to Church Camp! And Blake went as a sponsor! They had so much fun and next year mom is going too!!!!

The day they got back from camp we headed to Fayetteville to have a 4th of July get together with my family and to see Blake's family!!! I really enjoyed seeing everyone and getting to see my girls!!!

Maybe it won't be so long between posts next time!!!!
