Fun Weekend at the Spoon!!!

As most of you know I work for a financial advisor. I also work with my mother. But I have a second job. My mom and I work at the Silver Spoon, Inc. on the side. We help the owner, Donna and her crew with their special events, weddings, etc. This weekend we had wedding. So Wed., Thurs., & Friday we were at the spoon getting ready for the Wedding. We had a lot of fun preparing the food. Mom and Mrs. Eva worked on Silver Dollar's, Julie and I did quality control (to make sure the cake was good) and make lots a yummy dishes for the Wedding, while Mrs. Donna worked on Cakes.

This is so much fun. I love this job!!!!

Having fun... or not...

This past weekend we went to Fordyce for a 50th Wedding Anniversary of some really good friends of our family. The boys of course didn't want to be there. After we went to the reception we visited with my grandparents and Aunts before going to Little Rock to see my Sister and celebrate her 23 birthday. Tyler was bored as usual, but he got some good time in with Poppie.

I know kids don't like going to the store, especially mine, they always complain when we go. The other day I made Taylor go with me to Wal-Mart and he was very upset about that. He whined the whole time we were there. Finally we got to the check out (we were there only 15 min. total, what a record!!!) and he told me that he was "store sick", I said "really, I've never heard of that, are you sure?" He said "I'm store sick mom, you know it's like car sick but in the store......"

Only Blake

You would think that anyone in my family or any of my friends would learn from my mistakes, well at least some of them. But not my husband! Blake wanted to go blonde and I told him to go to the salon, but no, he insisted that I color his hair. I told him that it would turn red. He didn't' care so now he has red hair and he won't shave it off. However he did allow me to take before and after pictures. HA HA!!!

First Day of School... (2008)

Today was the first day of school. Tyler is in the 4th grade this year. I can't believe that he is old enough to be in the 4th grade. I remember when I was in the 4th grade. I can't be that old!!! I have a child in the 4th grade. Well I guess I better get use to it. Tyler is growing up. His teacher is Ms. Hawkins. She is very sweet and Tyler likes hers, that's a plus!!

Taylor on the other hand is in 1st grade. He has Mrs. Barr again this year. She was his kindergarten teacher and she moved up to 1st grade this year. We love Mrs. Barr. Taylor thinks she's the best. Sometimes I think he'd move in with her if she'd let him. Anyway today was their 1st day and both of the boys had a great day. They were ready for school to start. Have you ever heard of kids ready for school to start?? Well mine were, so don't be jealous!! Anyway I'll try to keep everyone updated on how they do in school. Enjoy the pictures of the 1st day.

A trip to the Salon.

Ok I know it was a bad idea.. but I did it anyway, after all it's just hair. A few weeks ago Amy and I decided to color our hair. I have never done it myself before but a friend of ours does hers all the time and it looks great. So we thought we could do this. W--R--O--N--G Wrong!! This is what it looks like. Not too bad, but not what we wanted. So I went to my salon to get it fix and it's taking a few (4) treatments to get it back close to my natural color. So I thought I'd share what not to do your self....

During the fix (Thanks to Taylor)
AFTER: I know no make up but better!

Ok last year I made the mistake of getting highlights in Tyler's hair. He loves them. So since it's back to school time he needed a hair cut and what else... highlights.

I have a Suffer Dude!! What a cutie!! Taylor is now growing his hair out to get highlights.

All Star Pool Party

Now that we are done with the World Series we thought it would be nice to have a party for these boys. After all they worked so very hard to get there. So of course we had a pool party at my house. Each of the parents brought something for our cake and home-made ice cream pool party. We had so much food and so much fun that no one wanted to leave. The kids really had fun with the water slide that my mom's best friend let us use. Thanks Mrs. Gwen!!! And they really liked the water balloon fight. Thank you to all the parents and coaches for making this years All Star team #1.

Mavrick Jett Adcock is here!!!

After all the excitement of ball we knew that Amy would go into labor soon. But it didn't go exactly as planned. But after a long day and Amy having to have a C-section Mavrick was born on July 30, 2008 at 7:57 pm. He weighed 6 lbs 5 oz. and was 17 3/4 inches long. Both mom and baby are doing great.
